Spring Washi Tape Popsicle Stick Flowers
Can you feel that spring is almost in the air. I am getting pretty excited about it (except for the fact that it continues to snow). So to bring a little springtime into my life, I created these adorable spring washi tape popsicle stick flowers. They have already brightened my day!
To make these cute flowers and to help brighten a day use these supplies (for each flower):
- one regular popsicle stick
- four mini popsicle sticks (I found mine at Wal-Mart)
- washi tape
- hot glue gun and glue
- cute tin/vase to arrange flowers in
Start by covering the popsicle sticks with the washi tape. The washi tape is the perfect size for popsicle sticks. It covers the front and sides of the sticks perfectly.
Cover the regular popsicle stick with tape for the stem. I did mine in green. Just cinch up the edges around the stick.
Do the same with the four mini sticks. I used three different colors for each flower.
Fire up the hot glue gun and glue the mini sticks together. Start by making a cross with the first two sticks and then make another cross with the other two sticks opposite of the first cross. Just adding a dab of hot glue in between the sticks.
Finish the flower off by gluing the stem to the back of the flower.
Repeat this process with each flower you want to make and then arrange in a decorative tin or vase.
I love the mix of the colors and patterns with the different washi tapes. The bright colors breathe spring into my heart! I just want it to be here already. I miss playing outside! I miss not having to wear a coat (which I hate with my hair, it is always getting lots of static and in the way with a coat). It would also be nice to have a little more sunlight during the day.
Even if it isn’t really sunshine, these washi tape popsicle stick flowers bring a little bit of light into my day. Hopefully they can help me through the rest of the snow we will get this year!
