Whom The Lord Loveth
Author: Neal A. Maxwell
Extreme Book Nerd Challenge Category: A book of essays
Becoming a mom was one of the greatest and hardest things I’ve ever done (am still doing haha). I felt like I had no time to really study or learn more about things pertaining to my religion as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This book of essays, Whom the Lord Loveth, was just what I’ve needed. Each essay is one to three pages in length. Don’t let the length fool you. These essays are deep. They got me thinking when I had a few moments of down time. The thoughts didn’t stop there. I was able to ponder and think over what I had read all day long. I’m kind of sad I’ve finished it. I guess that means I need to read it again!
I was a little bit worried about this topic, because I thought I’d have to read something boring or over my head. Not true. There are many books of essays. You just have to look for them. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a small package for a lot of thinking.
Have you ever read a book of essays? What was it?
