Pride and Prejudice
Author: Jane Austen
Extreme Book Nerd Challenge Category: A book with the military in it
I loved pretty much every movie version of Pride and Prejudice that I have seen. And I’ve seen quite a few of them. Some I like more than others. My all time favorite is probably the one with Kiera Knightley, but the one with Colin Firth is pretty good too. I feel like both of these movies follow the book well. That is one of the biggest problems with turning a book into a movie, but since I saw the movies first I felt that the book just added in some more details. I felt that the books give more depth into some characters such as Elizabeth’s parents. It explains why they are portrayed in certain ways.
I obviously loved the book and would recommend it to anyone who likes the movies or a good romance without all the sex (I prefer my books that way). It is so fun to see how these two who don’t seem to belong together end up together.
And to make it even better listen to the Audible version read by Rosamund Pike (played Jane in the Keira Knightley version). She does the voices and has an British accent that makes the story a little more magical in my opinion. And audio books definitely need a good narrator or else it is hard for me to listen too.
I’ve read other classics this year and I am loving it. I wish I would have read this sooner. And when you are done reading this one go read Death Comes to Pemberley. It is an extension of this story with a bit of a mystery too.
