Wooden Bunting
The best things in life are simple and easy. Doing things in simple ways allows more time for fun and being together with those that matter most. Crafting can be fun but can take over all your time. Today I am teaming up with some fab blog friends to share with you 10 quick, easy crafts that are all under $5 to create! My craft is an adorable wooden bunting.
To create the wooden bunting you will need:
- Balsa Wood (any size will do but I used the size in the photo, find it at craft stores like Joann’s and Michael’s)
- Craft paint
- Baker’s twine
- Washi Tape
To start I cut out the pendants. Using a pencil, I measure four inches down the length of the balsa wood. Then I used a ruler to draw the pendants to a point. Flip flop down the wood cutting out five or more pendants. I cut my pendants using my larger paper cutter, but scissors or a craft knife would work too. This was the easiest way for me to cut the pendants.
They should all end up the same size.
Tape off stripes using washi tape. I just eyeballed mine, but you could use a ruler to be exact.
Paint the pendant and remove the washi tape immediately after painting. Let the paint dry.
Tape or glue pendants to any type of twine or string, spacing them out equally. All done! Quick, easy, inexpensive.
I finally decided that this bright bunting would be perfect under my chalkboard in my laundry room.
Add your own character by adding stain over the paint or doing a different design. Enjoy this simple and easy craft. Then go check out all the other awesome ideas below:
