Free Printable Christmas List for Kids (or Adults)
Grab this free printable Christmas list! Kids fill out what they want and need, plus sizes and colors. It makes holiday shopping so much easier for parents!

Does your kid’s Christmas list live on sticky notes, napkins, and the back of homework? 🎄 Same here! That’s exactly why I made this free printable Christmas list. It keeps every wish in one cute spot. Best of all, it takes about two minutes to print.

What Is This Printable Christmas List?
This is a one-page Christmas list with a sweet holiday border. Little snowmen and Christmas trees frame the whole page. ⛄ At the top, there’s a spot for a name. That way, nobody mixes up whose list is whose!
Below the name, you’ll find two sections. One section is a wants list, and the other is a needs list. At the bottom, there’s a notes section for sizes, colors, and other details. Kids can fill it out, but honestly, anyone can use it. Grandma might even want one!

Why You’ll Love This Idea
First, it makes holiday shopping so much easier. You know how it goes. Your kids tell you ten things in October, and then you forget half of them by December. With this list, you have everything written down in one place. Plus, the notes section saves you from buying the wrong shirt size. Again. 😅
Also, the wants and needs sections help kids think a little deeper. Instead of just writing toys, they also think about things they really need. It starts a great conversation about gratitude during the holiday season. Best of all, it’s a free download, so you get all this at no cost!

How to Use the Free Printable Christmas List
Getting started is easy. First, grab the PDF file and open it on your computer. Next, print it on US letter size paper using your home printer. Check your printer settings and choose “fit to page” so the border prints nicely. For a sturdier list, use white cardstock instead of regular paper. No printer? No problem! Just take the digital download to a local print shop.
Then, hand each kid a list and some markers or crayons. Have them write their name at the top. After that, they can fill in their wants and needs. Finally, help them add sizes, colors, or favorite characters in the notes section. Younger kids can draw pictures instead of writing words!

Fun Ways to Use This Printable
This page works for so much more than just a wish list. It’s a great way to plan Christmas gifts for everyone. Here are a few ideas our whole family loves:
- Letters to Santa: Mail the finished list to the North Pole with a note. 🎅
- Grandparents and family: Send copies to relatives who always ask what to buy.
- Classroom fun: Teachers can use it as a quick writing activity before Christmas holidays.
- Gift exchanges: Use it for a family or office Secret Santa swap.
- Keepsakes: Save each year’s list and compare them on Christmas morning.

Variations to Try
Want to mix it up? Try a “want, need, wear, read” twist! Kids can use the notes section to add something to wear and something to read. It’s a fun way to keep gift giving simple and meaningful.
Another idea is to laminate the list and use a dry-erase marker. That way, kids can change their minds a hundred times. And trust me, they will! You can even hang it on the fridge for easy access. Or, use a hole punch and keep every list in a holiday binder.
You could also tuck the finished list into your Christmas Eve box. Then, look back at it together the next morning. It’s a sweet way to spread some Christmas cheer.

Common Questions About Christmas Lists
What should kids put on a Christmas list?
Kids can add toys, books, clothes, and experiences. Encourage a mix of wants and needs. For example, they might add a new game and also new winter boots. This keeps the list balanced and realistic.
How many things should be on a kid’s Christmas list?
There’s no right answer here! However, many parents set a limit of about five to ten items. A shorter list helps kids think about what they really want. It also makes shopping a lot less stressful for you.
When should kids write their Christmas list?
Most families start in early November (mine even earlier because I’m an early shopper). That gives you plenty of time to shop and compare prices. Plus, it beats the last-minute rush before Christmas Day!
