Scented Gingerbread Ornaments
I am itching to get my Christmas tree up, but I try to let Thanksgiving come before I get too carried away, that and the Mr. won’t allow it. Instead of setting up the tree, I’ve been working on the trimmings. I made a bunch of these adorable scented gingerbread men ornaments. They smell divine and look so perfect on a trimmed tree. Plus, I’m joining with a bunch of talent bloggers to bring you tree trimming ideas!
Supplies:
- 1 1/3 cup cinnamon
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/4 cup applesauce
- gingerbread men cookie cutters (or any shape you’d like to use)
- white paint for embellishments
- wax paper
- String or ornament hooks
Start by mixing cinnamon, flour and applesauce until moistened.
Roll out between two sheets of wax paper.
Remove a layer of wax paper, cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Poke a hole in tope for string or hook.
Dry by laying on a paper bag, turning a few times a day for two to three days.
Makes about 40 small gingerbread men. Amount will depend on size of cookie cutters.
String up and trim the tree.
Now let’s give you some more inspiration!
