Father’s Day Brunch Plus Banana Bread Recipe

Hey there! My name is Noelle and I blog regularly over at NBrynn. You’ll find me writing openly and honestly about the nitty gritty of life: messy mommy days, learning to grow in gratitude and trying to love my body after birthing two children. I also like to sprinkle in posts here and there about throwing a great party for one of my loved ones or a yummy recipe that my family is currently devouring. I’d love for you to stop by and say hello!

With Father’s Day just around the corner, today I’m sharing some inspiration for a fresh, festive Father’s Day brunch. I’ve got some great printables and a yummy Banana Bread recipe, so stay with me!

We held our own Father’s Day brunch with a group of friends one delightfully warm Saturday morning and enjoyed toasted banana bread, mimosas and hot coffee while watching our kids run and giggle in the backyard. Almost too good to be true! Here are some photos from our morning to get your creative juices flowing for your own event:

I didn’t want my husband stressed with house-cleaning or a crazy party-planning wife, so my number one goal was to keep things simple and summery. When I found these fun, retro brunch printables over at The Pretty Blog, I knew they were just the thing! I spent $3 on printing at a local print shop and about an hour putting all the decor together. Proof that you can make an event extra-special for hardly any cost or time.

Now for that yummy Banana Bread, one of my husband’s all-time favorites! All you’ll need are these eight basic ingredients:

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
3 medium overripe bananas

Directions:

1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
2) In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
3) In a separate bowl, cream together all wet ingredients: butter, brown sugar, eggs and bananas. Mix until well blended.
4) Stir banana mixture into flour mixture and stir just enough to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
5) Bake for 50 to 55 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

We like to eat our banana bread sliced, toasted and with a good smearing of butter!

Wishing you & yours a Happy Father’s Day!
