How to Make a Giant Mickey Mouse Cookie
Have you ever had a giant cookie? They are so fun. There is something special about taking something little and making it big that is awesome, especially when it is a giant Mickey Mouse Cookie. Don’t worry you can make your own, because I’m going to show you how as part of the Month of Disney that R&R Workshop is hosting. Be sure to check out all the Disney projects at the end of this post.
What you will need for a giant Mickey Mouse cookie:
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (I used the Betty Crocker Recipe, yielded 2 giant cookies)
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Disposable pizza pan (you can find these at the Dollar Store or any other store)
- Mickey Clip Art
- Knife
Start by spraying the pan with non-stick spray. This will make it easier to remove the cookie after baking.
Mix up the cookie dough and press cookie dough onto the pizza pan. Dough should be about 1/4 and inch thick and leave an inch around the edge of the pan to allow for expansion during baking.
Dough should look like this before baking. Bake for a few minutes longer than your recipe calls for at the same temperature. I baked mine for 15 minutes at 375 degrees.
Keep watch to make sure the cookie is golden brown to ensure that the middle of the cookie bakes.
Remove cookie from oven and allow to cool completely. I cooled mine for 3 hours.
While the cookie is cooling, download some Mickey Mouse Clipart (this is what I used). Open the image in a document and size it to fill up the entire page.
Print off the image and cut out.
Place the Mickey Mouse head in the center of the cookie. Hold the image with one hand and use a knife to cut out the shape.
After cutting the shape, go around again with the knife to make sure the edges will come out smoothly. Remove the excess cookie, leaving the Mickey Mouse shape.
To remove from pizza pan, hold cookie with one hand and flip pan. Remove to a flat surface to serve or gift.
I love how fun this cookie turned out. It would be perfect for a child’s birthday or for some Mickey Mouse fun. The great thing about this tutorial is that the cookies can be made in any simple shape. Cut out stars, triangles, any type of silhouettes that can be found will work.
Be sure to enjoy this yummy giant cookie, but hopefully not all in one sitting.
