Buttermilk Syrup
Remember a couple of weeks ago I shared my favorite homemade waffle recipe?? If not find my easy homemade waffle recipe right over here. When I shared that post I promised to share an easy and oh so delicious buttermilk syrup recipe. Have you ever tried buttermilk syrup??? It’s to die for!
I love breakfast foods, but in the last year or two I’ve grown tired of maple syrup. I’ve always had it with waffles, french toast, pancakes and more, but it’s been getting old. It doesn’t seem as appetizing as it used to. I’ve decided I need a change in my breakfast food syrups. So my mom shared this simple buttermilk syrup recipe and I’m hooked.
It’s simple to make, but tastes delicious and will give you something different than regular old maple syrup. Make it for special holidays, birthdays, or any day you want to celebrate or try something new!
Oh and if you don’t have buttermilk on hand, try this simple tip! For this recipe mix a scant 1/2 cup milk with 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar. Simply put the lemon juice or vinegar in the 1/2 cup measuring cup and then add the milk. Pour into a bowl and mix slightly, then let sit for about 5 minutes.
