DIY Personalized Keychains
Last week I had lots of fun attending SNAP conference. There were so many great classes, I got to meet lots of fun bloggy friends and I handed out these super cute DIY personalized keychains. They were the perfect gift to go along with my business card because our hotel had actual keys. It made it a lot easier to keep track of the keys.
I feel like some things kind of go out of style after a while. I am so glad that keychains aren’t one of those things. I love keys of all types, especially the old ones. So naturally I love keychains too. I will say that I wasn’t sure if these would work out how I had envisioned them, but they really turned out great.
After I assembled the keychains I punched a hole in my business card and attached them.
To create these key chains, I ordered the keychain cases from Party Palooza. They were inexpensive enough, but still looked like they were a good quality. After taking apart and adding the inserts I knew they would stay in nice and tight.
I created the quotes using the Rhonna Designs app on my phone. To do this, I had to do a little math. The keychains were 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches. The insert was slightly smaller than this. So I picked the 3:4 ratio size of a white background of the app. You could do this in any program. After creating the word art design, I pasted multiples into my editing program (you could probably use Word or PicMonkey). Be sure to size down to the right size to fit in the keychain before creating multiples. Use the rulers to be your guide.
Then I printed the word art on the back of scrapbook paper. If using a 12 x 12 piece of paper be sure to cut it down to 8 1/2 inches wide. This made the one side a funky fun print and the other with my personalized message.
I cut out the small rectangles using my straight cutter, but scissors could work as well. Insert the custom message into the keychain and replace the cover.
I just love how all of the designs turned out. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the “I am Woman, read my blog.” If you would rather use stickers or other craft supplies to decorate one side of scrapbook paper, rather than printing a message on one side.
What would your DIY personalized keychains say?
I love your “I am woman, read my blog”! That made me laugh so hard!!! Would it be ok for me to make something that says that too?

Yeah Donna you can make something with that.
These are so cute, Emily! I’m sad I didn’t get one…but I’m lucky enough to have already met you so I guess its okay. 🙂
I just wanted to share that I just made a purchase of these keychains on the Party Palooza site. I am a partner to a business where we run a weekly podcast called The No Offense Podcast with Lorenzo Price and we have been trying to find a more economical way to make promotional keychains for our business. I bought resin recently to tried and make them that way, but I failed to realized how long that actually takes to set. I think your suggestion will work great for what I am trying to make. Thank you for the suggestion and I also made sure to let Party Palooza know that your suggestion sent me to their site just in case you have any kind of sponsorship set up with them.
Thanks again,
Jessica Price
