30+ Romantic Movies (Chick Flicks) for Valentine’s Day

I am a sucker for a good romantic comedy or chick flick. I mean who doesn’t love the laughs and the romance (okay guys don’t always love that)??? If you are at a loss for something to watch this Valentine’s Day check out this list of great romantic movies for Valentine’s Day. I’ve got a few for the kids, a few for a date night and maybe a couple you will want to watch alone with a box of tissues.

While You Were Sleeping
It does have somewhat of a Christmas theme, but only because it happens on Christmas day. If you haven’t seen this one, put it at the top of your Valentine’s Day viewing list. It is one of my all time favorites.
27 Dresses
This is a cute one especially to watch with a bunch of girls. It was one of my favorite ones to watch in college with my roomies.
She’s All That
Another favorite of mine (you will know my age from all of these). A cute story of opposites attracting.
Pride and Prejudice
Any version of Pride and Prejudice is romantic and Valentine’s Day worthy. Whether you are a die hard Colin Firth version lover or love all the versions find on to enjoy.
Emma
Along the same lines as Pride and Prejudice, Emma is great. All about a matchmaker who finds love herself.
Valentine’s Day
If you love those shows with a lot of people who have intermingled stories, this is a fun one. I think the Mr. and I watched this one on TV a few years ago so it is sort of guy approved.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Because Audrey Hepburn is AMAZING! And so is this movie. If you haven’t seen it in a while (or not at all) pick this one!
Sabrina
Another Audrey Hepburn great. You will fall in love with this story. Another unexpected couple in the cutest way.
Roman Holiday
A classic romantic movie to enjoy!
Barefoot in the Park
In high school I was on a trip with one of my best friends and we watched this in the hotel one night. I just sighed and loved it so much. Life isn’t always perfect but love can survive.
Grease and Grease 2
Grease and Grease 2 give you some love, music and more. This might be one the guys will go for. Maybe?
Phantom of the Opera
Okay now if you really want a musical that is a little girly, this one never disappointed me.
A Walk to Remember
A very good, tear jerker of a movie. Love the opposites attracting in this movie.
Kate & Leopold
A time traveling tale! If you love Hugh Jackman this is a cute one.
Dirty Dancing
Another classic romantic movie.
Serendipity
Looking for a love story about fate? These two might just be meant to be, but you will have to watch it to see how it turns out.
You’ve Got Mail
A love story that will leave you longing for the days of AOL.
Return to Me
This is the all time chick flick! You know tears, love, and all that jazz.
10 Things I Hate About You
Another favorite of mine. It sure makes me miss Heath Ledger!
The Princess Bride
Romance, comedy, The Princess Bride has it all and you can watch it with the kids too!
Fools Rush In
A fun tale of opposites who happen into love!
Hitch
This is one you can get the guys to watch. It is a great balance between comedy and romance!
Runaway Bride
Richard Gere and Julia Roberts make a great pair in this story of a girl afraid to commit.
Ever After
I used to watch this movie every week. I’ve always loved Cinderella and this might be one of my favorite Cinderella type stories.
Chasing Liberty
Before Matthew Goode was on Downton Abbey or The Imitation Game, he stole my heart (and my friends in high school’s) in this cute story.
The Lake House
This is a sweet love story that has Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock (great combo)!
17 Again
Even if you don’t love Zac Efron, this is a fun time traveling story almost like Freaky Friday.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Another cute favorite. This is all about nosey family and trying to fall in love!
Never Been Kissed
Wish you could have a second chance at high school? See if Josie can find some love along the way.
Sweet Home Alabama
If you love Hart of Dixie, here is another southern love story.
Notting Hill
Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, do I need to say more?
Life is Beautiful
This one is on my to see list. My sister-in-law recommended it and I might have to watch it soon!
Enchanted
Love fairy tales? This is a cute spin when our world and the fairy tale worlds collide. Plus, it’s kid friendly!
The Wedding Singer
Another one to watch with the guy in your life! A great comedy. I just love the airplane song!!!
The Proposal
This show makes me want to live in Alaska.
13 Going on 30
Love the 80’s? This is a cute film about growing up really quick!
