Strawberry Lemonade
Can I just tell you I’ve had a love hate relationship with strawberries. I used to hate them, but my little Miss JJ loves them. She eats them every day right now. So I’ve been taking a couple of tastes here and there and they aren’t as bad as I remember. So I was excited to be apart of The Ultimate Recipe Challenge this month. The theme ingredient is you guessed it, Strawberries!!!! Can I just tell you I am over this summer heat and the only thing to make it a little bit better is a nice cold drink. I whipped up some yummy strawberry lemonade to cool off in the evenings.
The Mr. was pretty excited too. When we go out to eat he loves flavored lemonades, but this one is way better than others because it is homemade! There is just something amazing about fresh squeezed lemonade and it really doesn’t take that much effort.
If you don’t love strawberries (like I didn’t) then don’t worry. You can substitute another fruit, like peaches or blueberries. Or if you like the strawberry taste but want a more smooth lemonade. Strain the strawberry puree. If you do this then you will want to use a little bit more strawberries to get more of the strawberry flavor.
