Heaven on Earth Cake

A tasty no-bake dessert recipe using angel food cake, pudding, and cherry or strawberry pie filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 Angel Cake prepared
  • 1 pkg instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 c sour cream
  • ½ t almond
  • 1 - 20 oz can strawberries or cherries
  • 1 - 8 oz container Cool Whip
  • 1 T chopped almond pieces

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the milk, sour cream, pudding mix and almond flavoring. Whisk until combined. Set aside.
  • Cut up the prepared Angel Food Cake into 1-inch size cubes. Place half of them in the bottom of a 13x9 or similar sized baking dish. Set aside.
  • Dollop about half of the pie filling in spoonfuls over the cake pieces.
  • Cover with the remaining cake pieces and gently press down to create an even layer.
  • Spread the pudding mix evenly over the cake pieces.
  • Top with the cool whip and spread evenly to the edges.
  • Dollop the remaining pie filling over the cool whip.
  • Loosely cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  • Sprinkle with the almond pieces and serve.

Notes

Storage: Cake can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
